The Montessori School of Downtown is currently seeking Coordinators to support the Campus Director by coordinating operational and academic needs of the campus related to meeting state and local requirements including support services, attendance, facilities, and academic requirements. The Coordinators will assist the Director with the discipline of students and supervision and mentoring of faculty as well as the development of a positive school culture.

Qualifications for this position require: an Education/Certification and Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree – preferred), successful completion of the Administrator Licensure Completion Plan (ALCP) for Building Level Administrator; (preferred) 5+ years of successful teaching experience; required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Advanced knowledge of federal
and state education laws; Computer literate with strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities may include assisting with supervision of employees as directed, promoting and encouraging the success of every student by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth, and ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

Montessori School of Downtown/Shipra School is an educational center that serves the Houston area established in 1984 to provide high-quality early education thru Elementary.

The Director provides educational leadership and manages the day-to-day operations of the Campus. The Campus Director assumes administrative responsibility for all children’s programs based on the curriculum created by Montessori School of Downtown. The Campus Director solicits support for fundraising efforts, meets overall budget and enrollment goals, fosters long- term relationships in the community and solicits broad support for the Campus. The Campus Director maintains accurate records of all program components with the support of coordinators if needed. The Campus Director works collaboratively and fosters a positive team environment for teachers, staff, and parents. The Campus Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Excellent written and spoken communication

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Compose monthly school newsletter and post in appropriate areas
  • Prepare any needed forms, flyers or letters as requested by Director
  • Prepare weekly attendance audits
  • Prepare weekly attendance sheets Assist with marketing, graphic design, etc. requests
  • Prepare monthly employee birthdays and incentive programs
  • Support Director with their office needs and basic needs around school campus (bulletin
    boards, copies, laminating, etc.)
  • Answer and direct phone calls and respond to basic emails Compose class and staff lists
  • Other duties assigned

Qualitifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills are required
  • Ability to handle assignments to completion, which may require resolving problems and
    correcting errors
  • Verbal and written skills
  • Relevant technology skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Great Attention to details
  • Organization and planning
  • Very Flexible and self-self-directed
